The beauty of language difference is that people tend to really try hard to be understood. One instance was this afternoon when I was about to order my dinner. I was so hungry for we had training on effective games and activities in class and we cleaned the office and got all the clutter out of the building. After I was done with my work, I went directly to the front desk and asked one staff to order my food. I told her to get some aubergine with pork [not spicy please…] and a separate rice; she said she understood me but a few seconds she blurted out what’s aubergine? I described it to her thoroughly and easily yet she cannot figure the veggie out so I tried to get a marker and draw it for her. After I talked with her I felt hungrier than ever. Gosh! If only I know how to speak their mother tongue my life would’ve been perfect in here.
